About Eric

Eric Dierks started riding following his fathers footsteps in Dressage and discovered Eventing graduating as an “A” from the Fox River Valley Pony Club in Barrington, Illinois. After competing in the North American Young Riders Championships he went on to graduate from Illinois State University with a B.S. in Environmental Health Studies. Eric went on to pursue horses full time as both a competitor and instructor eventually leading him to be long-listed for the 2002 World Equestrian Games in Jerez, Spain and short-listed for the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, Greece. Having a love for the Thoroughbred, Eric has also won the first National Retired Race Horse Challenge in 2012, educating the public and promoting careers for the Thoroughbred when they are no longer racing. A big advocate for education, Eric has coached the Area IV Young Rider 3-Day Event Team at the North American Young Riders Championships, sat on the Board of Governors for the United States Pony Club, published countless articles on training and continues to teach at his family's Stonehedge Farm in Union Grove, Wisconsin. Today Eric continues to educate and compete in the Eventing, Dressage, and Hunter/Jumper arenas. Eric's lessons and clinics center around the discovery of what makes things tick in the harmony of the horse and rider highlighting on Dressage principles across all disciplines.
